I take great pride in what I do. I absolutely love photographing love. I strongly believe that love is a big deal, it should be celebrated, and it should be documented. Documenting a wedding day is so awesome from start to finish. It is seriously so fantastic to document the joining of two loves as they start their journey together.
But what really tugs at my heart and soul is the re-connection of love among couples and families after a deployment. That’s right …. those tear-jerking Military Homecoming videos that you see on social media and can’t get to the tissues quick enough. I photograph them and love each and every moment of it. I am honored to be a part of the amazing network, Welcome Them Home, where I donate my time and services to families to document their Military Homecomings. I have worked with the fiances of soldiers who were returning home, Mothers with children at home waiting for their Dad to return, and even surprised a sweet little girl at school who had no idea her Daddy had returned home earlier that morning. Last year I had the incredible honor of photographing a homecoming of a soldier that I grew up with as he returned home to his wonderful wife, son, and Mom. I’ll never forget at one of the homecomings, a gentleman walked off of the plane and saw both myself (camera in hand) along with the fiance of one of the soldiers waiting and he stopped and told her that ‘her soldier is on his way out.’ Tissues …. where are the tissues.
If you or someone you know is currently deployed and returning home and you would like to have their homecoming documented, please reach out. I make any and all efforts to be there and have traveled between Pittsburgh and Ohio to document these homecomings. If for some reason I am unable to make it, I always find another photographer to make sure your time is covered.
Are you recently engaged and planning your Pittsburgh wedding? I’d LOVE to hear from you! Please feel free to contact me below or email me directly at AmandaBriscoPhotography@gmail.com.
