PITTSBURGH ENGAGEMENT

The best part about this post is saying that – these two are getting married in just a few short weeks!!!  That’s right folks, not next year, not in a few months, literally in about three weeks!  I’m so excited to work with Margaret and Ben again.

I was really looking forward to blogging their session and talking about it because it is something that was quite different than a typical engagement session.  Margaret expressed her want for the engagement pictures and so we started to discuss locations.  I always start my round of questioning off with things like:

What do you envision?

What do you want the background to look like … city, greens, park, etc.?

What do you like to do together?  What are your interests?

Margaret was very straightforward with me (which is something that I love about her) and she simply stated that a city type of engagement session or any area that is ‘over-used’ for sessions is simply NOT an option.  Okay … time to be creative!  When Margaret and I initially met to discuss their wedding, she spoke about how much she loves their home, their neighborhood, and their dog.  My suggestion to her was to simply walk around the neighborhood, walk around with their dog, and end with a lifestyle type of session back at home.

It was PERFECT!

FALL ENGAGEMENT PICTURES IN PITTSBURGH

We oddly didn’t have a peak time this fall and so the trees were at different stages of turning color and losing leaves all over the Pittsburgh area.  Luckily, we had some great color as we walked around their neighborhood.  There is something so great about a simple photo of a couple in the middle of a street (safely without speeding cars, of course!) or near a fence.  I’ve never been to their neighborhood before so literally my creativity was working on overdrive and I loved every minute of it.

PITTSBURGH ENGAGEMENT

It was a super chilly morning and so ending their session back at home where they could cozy up and get warm was the perfect ending.  We plan on taking some photos of the two of them on the day of their wedding inside of their home as well.  How romantic is that to look back on … images of them in their first home together, on their wedding day.  Love it!
