I’m here today to speak to the service based professionals and to the brides who are planning your wedding. Yes, I realize this is an odd post and quite honestly, an odd way to start it out. I promise you, this will make sense. I am here for you both.
FROM A BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE
We ALL start out from zero. Honestly, unless you are handed a well built company, stacked with clients, constant income (if you are out there and reading this, good for you), you likely started with nothing. No clients. No followers. Little knowledge on starting. Lots of anxiety. Maybe I’m speaking from personal experience, but generally speaking, our slates are clean when we start out. For the service based professionals, your prices are likely low. Like, really, really low. Maybe you are offering free services to build your portfolio. Nonetheless, you likely aren’t charging thousands right out of the gates. Guess what ….. THAT’S OKAY. If you are now a few years in and still charging less than the average of the industry …. THAT’S OKAY. There are clients out there for YOU. Does your pricing work for you? Does your pricing work for your business model? Are you happy? You do YOU. That’s all that matters.
In the world of social media, things can get pretty nasty out there. I’m in quite a few online groups and I see SO much shaming going around toward members in the industry who are ‘priced TOO low.’ Some even go on to say that they are ‘ruining the industry.’ I’m here for those of you who are priced below other others. You aren’t ruining the industry. You have clients out there who will value you for your time and for your service. There are clients for you, just like there are clients for the higher priced businesses.

FROM A BRIDE’S PERSPECTIVE
Planning a wedding is a HUGE task! There are all kinds of hands in the pot and so many different opinions, outlooks, plans, etc., that go into that ONE day. A big part of your planning might be your budget. It’s important to stick to it! Knowing what you can spend on each part of the day will help you plan and will help you narrow down your results for your vendors.
If you don’t have a huge budget, THAT’S OKAY. You will find vendors that will be thrilled to work with you. Equally, if you have a high budget, that’s also OKAY!! You will also find vendors who will fit the higher budgets. Regardless, your day won’t be any less of a day because of a higher priced vendor list or a lower priced vendor list.
Your comfort level with your vendors, your trust in them, and your connection to them is what will make or break your day. It’s not the amount that you paid them. There’s a vendor out there for each and every one of you, regardless of budget. Your budget has NOTHING to do with whether or not you value any part of the services.
My opinions on all of this might be wildly unpopular by some. Honestly, that doesn’t bother me at all. I’m here to support other business owners. I’m here to support the brides planning their weddings. I’m here to say thank you. Thank you for all of the support I’ve received over the years. At every level of my business, I’ve had unconditional support from you all and I’m forever grateful to each and every one of you.
