PITTSBURGH NATIONAL AVIARY WEDDING

Alicia and Blake were married on the most incredible Spring day in Pittsburgh. If you are from the Pittsburgh area or know it well, you know that we have some questionable weather at times and while this Spring has been rather rainy, dark, and super wet, they had nothing but blue skies and sunshine for their beautiful wedding at the Pittsburgh National Aviary.

We previously met back in January for their engagement session outside of Phipps Conservatory. It was cut a tad short because of the cold weather, but even with just a short time with them, I knew we were going to have the best time on the day of their wedding. I’m always drawn to a close connection with couples and Alicia and Blake are so deeply connected.

Bridal Prep and First Look Photos at the North Shore

We started off the day at the Residence Inn outside of PNC Park. We captured some fun shots of Alicia and the girls in matching robes (always a fun photo opportunity) before heading outside of the hotel for their first look.

There was a wall of windows on the side of PNC Park and the colors were just incredible as a backdrop.

North Shore and Downtown Pittsburgh Wedding Party Portraits

Downtown Pittsburgh is a gold mine for wedding party portraits. We walked down around the river walk to get the amazing view of downtown Pittsburgh for their portraits. Before leaving the North Shore, we took a few shots on the Roberto Clemente Bridge before heading into the city. Strawberry Way was our final stop before heading over to the Aviary.

Pittsburgh National Aviary Wedding Ceremony and Reception

Family and friends gathered at the National Aviary for the wedding ceremony and reception. Immediately following the ceremony, Alicia changed into her second dress for the evening. It was stunning!! Jason Kendall Productions, as usual, had the dance floor packed for the remainder of the evening. Can’t go wrong with them at your wedding! Such an amazing day and a fantastic way to kick off the 2019 wedding season. Many thanks to Alicia and Blake for having me!!
