‘I still have my lens cap!’ I’ll forever hear that in my head every time I think of Samantha and Evan.

Evan reached out to me for availability for a surprise proposal in May. I was delighted that I had the date opened. Shortly after, he shared with me his master plan. And it was a good one.

After many details (and a VERY detailed 5+ page PDF document -yes, he’s THAT good), the plan was underway. Samantha and Even, along with Samantha’s lovely sister, are wedding photographers and videographers themselves. Evan created and set up an entire surprise proposal. Created email accounts, social media profiles, the works. The couple ‘hired’ Samantha and Evan for their proposal.

Evan was filming a behind the scenes story of this session. When Samantha and Evan arrived, she was frantically trying to run off to scout the area. NOT PART OF THE PLAN! He had to grab her hand to stop her. If she would have gotten away from him, she would have ran right into a group of people …. their closest friends and family. Yes, like I told you, Evan is THAT good. He not only was surprising her with what was her own proposal, he invited their friends and family to be a part of it all.

When he was able to stop her to tell her that there was no shoot, she was in total panic mode! He then got down on one knee and well … you know what happens after that.

To which she responded …. ‘I still have my lens cap!’ Through tears, laughter, and more tears, a HUGE surprise to see their family, and more tears …. she said YES.

After some family photos, we took some time for an inpromptu engagement session. Settlers Ridge park had some incredible light that evening!!

Evan and Samantha, this was a highlight of my wedding and engagement season this year. I cannot thank you enough for including me in this. You guys are so amazing and your love is inspiring.
