Last week I talked about planning a wedding during a pandemic. It’s a level of stress that no couple can plan for. If you are one of the many unfortunate couples who have been forced to move your date, I have some ideas on how to still honor your original date.
If leaving your house is not an option:
Get dressed up, order some fancy take-out (if you can), pop some champagne, and have a fancy at home date night. Just the two of you … together.
Plan dates around the entire day! Have a big breakfast in bed, a picnic lunch, and make a yummy dinner …. together.
If you were planning a signature cocktail for the wedding, make it at home to enjoy …. together.
If you are a hopeless romantic, play your song for your first dance, and don’t just sit and listen to it …. dance to it … together. I actually recommend this for all of my couples to rock your wedding day photos!
If leaving your house is an option:
Make reservations at a fabulous restaurant and spend the evening out … together.
Plan a short weekend getaway and spend your entire wedding day weekend alone … together.
The whole point I’m trying to make here is simple … do something … TOGETHER. If you are unable to get married on the day you originally planned, don’t let it pass you by. You looked forward to that date, you planned for that date, and you looked forward to that date and you did that all together.
